It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gertrude M. Buikema (Morrison, Illinois), who passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Claus Tiesman and Hilda Tiesman (Haan); her daughter Sandy Schipper; her grandson Mark Drolema; and her siblings, Jeanette Hook, Harold, John H., Tom, Claus and Robert W..
She is survived by: her husband Fulton; her daughters, Shirley Schroeder (Arlyn) of Morrison and Sharon Morris (Mark) of Dixon, IL; her grandchildren, Deborah Wallace (Eric), Deanna Thompson (Paul Fashingbauer), Julie Schroeder, Jill Smith (Jason), Steve Drolema (Ani), Kristy VanderWiel (Marvin), Jamie Drolema (Angela) and Stacey Decker (Tim Villa); her stepgrandchildren, Adam Morris and Ryan Morris; and her brothers, Ron Tiesman of Sterling, IL and Harlan Tiesman (Diana) of Huntley, IL.. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; three step-great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bosma-Renkes - Morrison Chapel (404 Lincoln Hwy, Morrison, IL 61270). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
