He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ulfers and Eilene Ulfers. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Harris; his children, Mike Harris (Lori), Melissa Zurag (Carl), Rebecca Anastos (Nick) and Angela Ellerbrock (Robert); his grandchildren, Sarah, Cory and Thomas; his great grandchildren, Aaron, Hank, Jayden and Cody; his former wife Joyce Thompson; his stepchildren, Debbie Eukovsky (Rick) and Guy Rasor (Gary); his stepgranddaughters, Denise Knight (Jason) and Brittany Eukovsky; and his stepgreat-grandsons, Cody, Liam Knight, David and Danny Rasor. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
