He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Chapell and Ruth Chapell (Gummere); his wife Janice Brock; his son Richard Wayne; and his brothers, Charles Chapell (Virginia), Robert and Paul.
He is survived by: his daughter Karla Stark (Jack) of Morris; his grandchildren, Matthew Stark, Jenny Llanos and Hope Rich; his great grandchild Christopher Lee Munoz; his sister Carolyn Roundtree; his sisters-in-law, JoAnn Chapell and Marlene Chapell; and his close friend Rosalind Parsons.
Preferred memorials may be made in Dick's name to the Morris Hospital Transportation/Lifeline Fund or the Trinity Services in Joliet.
