He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Charles, Ruth Backhus, Les and Mary June Enger. He is survived by: his parents, Mark Charles Backhus and Catherine Ann Enger; his brother Jeffrey Thomas Backhus of Morris; his children, Caelyn Marie, Brandon Spencer Backhus and Tristan Cole Backhus; his great-aunt Lucy Novotne of Morris; his uncles, John Maddox (Kathy), Les Enger (Julie), Tom Enger (Kim) and Jeff Popidinski (Marquita); his aunt Lucy Enger; and his significant other Jasmine Evans.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please make donations to the family, so they can establish an education fund for Michael's children.
