He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerhard Thompson and Adda Thompson (Jamison); and his siblings, Jerome, Wayne, Lavern, Jody, Glen, Earl Thompson, Ellen Broderick and Eleanor Goodwin.
He is survived by: his wife Eva June; his daughters, Lynn Valerio (Robert) of Morris and Kim Shannon (Don) of Morris; his grandchildren, Derek Valerio (Jane), Kristin Ehrman (Paul), Amanda Reid (Mark), Wesley Shannon (Kate Carey) and Chad Shannon (Amy); and his sister Beverly Pulfer of Morris. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
