He was predeceased by: his father Richard Eugene Saffeels; his grandparents, Tom Rathmann, Francies and Harriet Arnold; his stepgrandparents, Herman and Carol Schaefer; his grandfather Henry Allen Holler; his aunt Janice Hansen; and his uncle Dan Arnold.
He is survived by: his mother Nancy Schaefer; his stepfather Kevin Schaefer; his sister Annie Novak (Chris) of Joliet; his stepsister Kindra Bender (Greg); his children, Gage Phillips, Cora Bender, Kirsten Schaefer and Kaitlyn Schaefer; his nieces and nephews, Taylor Novak, Charlie Blazier, Jonathan Holler, Emily Novak and Hank Holler; his grandmother Betty Rathmann; his friend Sheila Lowery; and his aunts and uncles, Cheryl Miller, Cindi Arnold, Wayne Arnold and Larry Hansen.
Due to COVID-19 requirements, safe social distancing will be required and we are asking for visitors to wear their masks while visiting the family.
