He was predeceased by: his son David Albert Schlak. He is survived by: his sons, Ronald Schlak (Wendy) of Glendale Heights, IL, Steven Schlak (Maureen) of Lombard and Thomas Schlak (Debbie) of Geneva, IL; his grandchildren, Jessica Phillips (Eric), Elizabeth Logan (Drew) and Christopher Grimes; and his great grandchildren, Parker Phillips, Emerson Phillips, Harper Logan and Mason Logan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Disabled American Veterans would be appreciated.
