Durkin Sr. of Morris, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on January 10, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph M. Durkin and Mary Durkin (Galvin); his wife Patricia Durkin; his daughter Mary Elizabeth; and his siblings, Don (Virginia), Gerald, Robert and Jean Spray.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin (Patricia) of Orland Park, Michael (Shelley) of Orland Park, Kerry (Gwen) of Thorton, Brian (Clara) of San Antonio, TX, John Jr. (Deb) of Coal City, Sharon Durkin of Crest Hill, Patrick (Krista) of Channahon, Robert (Melissa) of Morris, Christopher (Liz Blaskey) of Morris and Lois Darlington (Scott) of Morris; his grandchildren, Nicholas (Sarah), Jennifer (Melissa), Sean (Nicole), Keith (Aubrey), Jeffrey, Maureen (Tony Falkner), Kelly Berner (Brian), Jeremy (Katie), Bailey, Breckin, Christopher, Stephanie Struckmeyer (Andrew), Jason (Kristin), Kevin, John, Katherine, Joshua Blaskey (Erin), Brandon (Amber), Erin Blaskey, Hallie, Matthew and Lillian Darlington; and his siblings-in-law, Ray W. Spray and Joanne Durkin. He is also survived by 24 great grandchildren.
Due to COVID-19 requirements, safe social distancing will be required and visitors are asked to wear masks during the services.
Memorials may be made in John's name to Grundy Community Lending Closet, Immaculate Conception School or Joliet Area Community Hospice.
