We are sad to announce that on December 9, 2022, at the age of 55, James R. Smith of Morris, Illinois, born in Eldorado, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Smith and Vera Smith (Gunter); and his grandmother Eva Dee Duncan. He is survived by: his wife Kim Smith (Buttry); his daughter Brittney Erickson (Joe); his granddaughter Louella Joy Erickson; his father-in-law Jewel Buttry; his sister-in-law Pam Simpson (Jeff); his niece Caitlyn Simpson; and his nephew Logan Simpson. He is also survived by many family members and friends.

Due to Smitty's unexpected passing, the family would appreciate financial assistance in lieu of flowers.
