He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Miersch and Ella Miersch; his former wife Patricia A. Miersch; and his daughter Hillma Demann. He is survived by: his wife Mary L. Miersch of Morris; and his children, Ella-Jayne Melton (Ron) of South Carolina, Dan Hubert of Seneca and John Hubert (Carey) of Coal City. He is also survived by four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
