He was predeceased by: his parents, Angela Pubentz (O'Brien) and John Pubentz; his siblings, Mary Jane Pubentz and John "Jack" Pubentz; and his siblings-in-law, Marlene Pubentz (Misewicz), John Sterr and George "Brunch" Lehman.
He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Jennifer Buri (Cunha) and Jeffrey Pubentz (Gail); his stepdaughters, Sara Tams (Michael), Elizabeth Graver (Grant) and Kimberly Allgaeuer (Johnny); his grandchildren, Bailey, Chloe, Jack, Emma, Matthew, Nathan, Ashley, Johnny and Hailey; and his sister Carol Sterr-Lehman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to St. Paul the Apostle School.
