She was predeceased by: her parents, Hazel Coop-Prothero and Ransom Smith; her stepparents, Carlton Prothero and Viola Smith of Wellsboro, PA; her siblings, Lloyd Smith, Frederick Prothero, Ruth Ann Everett, Janet Slusser, Donna Slusser and Cindy Kimball; and her parent-in-law Byford.
She is survived by: her husbands, Ron Newton and Ronald G. Newton; her children, Michele Coleman (Jim), Melanie Scheffer (John) and Michael Newton of Morris, Illinois; her granddaughters, Hope Acker and Kelsey Scheffer; her great grandchild Liam Acker; her sister Barbara Bryan of Lutz, Florida; and her siblings-in-law, Dena Johnson of Malta, Rita Belcher of Buncombe, Illinois and Bill Newton of Cobden. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
