He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Madsen and Adele Madsen (Ostendorf); and his sister Karin Gonsch (Madsen). He is survived by: his significant other Rhey Glastetter; his children, Laura Voltarel (Mike) of Custer Park, Lisa McGann of Crest Hill, Edward Madsen IV (Becky) of Chicago and Kenneth Madsen (Michelle) of Plainfield; and his grandchildren, Lucas, Hayden (Austinn McGann), Annalyse, Tegan (Harper Madsen), John (Jacob Voltarel) and Kenneth (McKenna Madsen).

Preferred memorials may be made in Swede's memory to a recipient of the donor's choice that makes them smile.
