He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Kassing and Lois Kassing (Surber); his sister Charlotte Hazzard; and his father-in-law Lloyd Frillman. He is survived by: his wife Rita K. Frillman; his children, Kim Griffith (Scott) of Bethalto and David Kassing (Gina) of Worden; his mother-in-law Jean Frillman of Bethalto; his sister Karen Sue Szegedy (Bob) of Collinsville; his brother-in-law Jim Hazzard of Glen Carbon; and his grandchildren, Kate, Alex, Megan, Levi and Wyatt. He is also survived by several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Due to Covid-19 distancing regulations, a carcade visitation (a celebration where a number of car owners drive slowly in a processional line of respect) will be from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
