It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Hunter of Monticello, Illinois, born in DeLand, Illinois, who passed away on May 1, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Raymond Hunter and Mildred Hunter; his wife Carolyn Jean Phillips; and his children, Sandra Fischer and Phillip Hunter.

He is survived by : his children, Julie Beals of Monticello and Walter Hunter, Jr. of Champaign; and his siblings, Kenny, James, Donald, Francis Hunter, Wilma, Juanita and Wanda.

Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Monticello.
