He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Walter Brown and Barbara Brown (McCullough); his sisters, Lynn Harrison and Rita Mathis; his children, Robert Brown (Rebecca Rasch) of Missoula, MT and Halie Ewald (Andy) of Missoula, MT; his former wife Mary Brown (Warren) of Champaign; his grandchildren, Anna, Leo Brown, James and Josephine Ewald; his siblings, Jan Gummerson (Mark) of Woodstock, Joe Brown of Savoy, Mary Scheid (Bernie) of Falls Church, VA., Tom Brown (Gretchen) of Galena, Jim Brown (Darshini) of Evanston and Liz Finn (John) of Sidney; and his brothers-in-law, Joris Harrison of Woodstock and Ken Mathis of Urbana. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Donations made in his name to Allerton Park & Retreat Center will go towards a memorial bench.
