He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman H. Wood and Helen E. Wood (Hill). He is survived by: his daughter Nicole Woods; his stepson Michael Shane Sexton; his grandchildren, Tana Wood, Chyna and Dallas Eldrige; and his sisters, Patricia Wieland (Gene) and Trudy Cresap. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Monticello Masonic Lodge or the Shriner's Hospital.
