He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorin Ives Nevling and Rose Elizabeth Nevling (Meyer); and his granddaughters, Kathleen and Unity. He is survived by: his wife Janet (Sullivan); his sister Marilyn (William); his children, Lorin, Mark (Affeelea), James (Rae), John (Theresa) and Laura; his grandchildren, Alex, Kyle, Matthew, Steven, Christopher, Robert (Junnah), Matt and Stephanie; and his great grandchildren, Adielynn, Brenna, Mae and Hiro.

Contributions in lieu of flowers to the Nature Conservancy of Illinois in Lorin's memory would be welcome.
