He was predeceased by: his parents, John Downey and Viola (Dorethy); and his siblings, Pearly, Patricia, Roberta and Jesse.
He is survived by: his former wife Georgia King (Grant); his children, Greg, Lisa and Laura; his wife Charlene Downey (Pritts); his children, Erick and Kim; his friend Mike Hawkins; his brother-in-law Larry Grant; and his grandchildren, Lauren and Gregg. He is also survived by the youngest of 5 siblings.
