He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy H. Wittig and Clara I. Wittig (Perkins); and his sisters, Margery Shaffer, Jeane Wittig and Helen Meece.

He is survived by: his children, Steve Wittig (Sandy) of Canton, IL, Ralph Wittig of Monticello, Richard Wittig (Pam) of Monticello and Barbara Lancaster (Jeff) of Tolono; and his sister Joanne Shaffer of Monticello. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
