He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Donald Melvin and Edna Fortner Whisnant; his wife Linda Dyson Whisnant; his sons, Clayton John Whisnant (Megan DeMoss) of Spartanburg and Aaron James Whisnant (Monica Mabry Whisnant) of Spartanburg; his pet Coco; his grandchildren, Sophia Margaret Whisnant, David James Whisnant, Paul DeMoss Whisnant and Mazlyn Starr Whisnant; his brother John Robert Whisnant (Cindy); and also, Larry, Linda Dyson and Joyce Dyson.
