He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Sr. Ries and Wilma Jeanette Ries (Hall); and his siblings, Shirley Diesel, Gay Lynn and Randy.

He is survived by: his wife Kimberly; his daughters, Michelle Mathefs (Brian) and Danielle Zaha (Josh); his grandchildren, Damian and Kirstin; his sister Pam Fisher; and his pet Midnight. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and relatives.
