Shafer of Monmouth, Illinois, born in Burlington, Iowa, who passed away on May 12, 2024, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Fredrick and Maria Caroline Dorthea Lenz (Oge); her husband Clifford E. Shafer; her siblings, David Lenz, Mary "Jane" Stewart, Charles "Doc" Lenz and Jack Lenz; and her granddaughter Korin Morris.
She is survived by: her children, Jane McNally of Bolingbrook, June Podschweit (Ron) of Batavia, Lee Shafer (Carol) of Athens and Larry Shafer (Kenda) of Temple. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus, Galesburg, Illinois.
