She was predeceased by: her parents, George H. Newton and Vera Newton (Temple); her former husband Donald L. Hume; her husband Edward K. Syrkel; her siblings, Harold Newton and Nettie Owens; and her daughter Tina Waterman.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cindy Moore of Galesburg, IL and Linda McMahon (Mike) of Monmouth, IL; her grandchildren, Mike Hume (Angela), John Moore (Angela), Sean Moore, Chad Moore, Donald Moore (Tiffany), Windie Moore, Jonathon Waterman (Janel), Justin Waterman (Kelli), Jacob Waterman and Jessa Waterman; her siblings, John Newton of Oquawka, IL and Joyce King of Keithsburg, IL; and her son-in-law Jay Waterman of Oquawka, IL.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Strom Center in Monmouth.
