He is survived by: his friend John; his parents, Dorothea "Dottie" Mahin of Roseville, Illinois. and John Ockert; his wife Lori Ockert; his sons, Eric Ockert (Cailin) of Cave Creek and Andrew Ockert (Amanda) of Phoenix, Arizona; his grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, Thomas and Olivia; and his sister Jill Wood (Patrick) of Antioch, Illinois..
