It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John C. Toal Sr. of Monmouth, Illinois, who passed away on May 23, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll P. Toal and Bernice Loretta Toal (Shunick); his wife Mary Alice McLoskey; his brothers, Carroll Paul Toal and Raymond Toal; and his siblings-in-law, Bob McLoskey, Dick and Anne Romine.
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Lee (Bruce) and Jack Toal (Amy); his grandchildren, Brandon Lee (Tana), Breayn Klausing (Josh), Kelsey Shepherd (Corbin), Kathryn Shepherd (Tucker), Jessicah Wright (Mitch), Alec Toal (Mikaela), Jared Toal, Ashton Toal and Jace Toal; his great grandchildren, Rowan Toal, Raeley Lee, Brecklynn Lee, Callaway Klausing, Kollyns Klausing, Sawyer Shepherd, Cooper Shepherd and Milah Wright; his sisters, Kathleen Wagner of Missoula, MT and Ann Toal of Monmouth; and his sisters-in-law, Peg McNitt (Lane), Sharon Steffel (Jerry), Mary Toal and Jo McLoskey. He is also survived by 3 future great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Immaculate Conception School, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or Shriner Children's Hospital.
