He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Burkett and Dorothy Burkett (Belt); his brothers, Randy Burkett, Charles "Barney" Burkett and Larry Coffelt; and his pet Tilly.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Burkett of Monmouth, IL; his children, George "Peewee" Shultz (Annette Bundy), Chris Shultz, Gary L. Burkett II, Tara Williams and Tricia Burkett; his grandchildren, Mackenzie Burkett, Christopher Shultz II, Zachery Lantau, Chase Shultz, Tory Shultz and Felicia Maynard; and his sister Marilyn Smith. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
