He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Howard and Beatrice Simpson (Benge); and his granddaughter Jaylene Adams. He is survived by: his wife Laura Richey of Monmouth, IL; his children, Erin Richey of Galesburg, IL, Trina (Dustin Pettigrew) of Roseville, IL, Delbert "Jay" Simpson, Jr. (Deana Gipson) of Kirkwood, IL, Dion Simpson (Chris) of Aledo, IL, Zach Simpson (Janice Neff) of Stronghurst, IL, Trent Richey (Amber) of Roseville, IL and Jordan Simpson (Beth Babin) of Bloomington, IL; and his siblings, Caroline, Paul, Mason and David. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
