He is survived by: his children, Susanna Vela of Downers Grove, IL, Belinda Vela of Downers Grove, IL. and Avelino Vela of Momence, IL.; his sister Juanita Martinez of DeBary, FL.; his son-in-law Robert Smith of Momence, IL.; his grandchildren, Ernesto Vela, Emilio Vela, Eric Vela, Elena Vela and Ethan Vela; and his great grandchildren, Landon Vela, Hayden Vela, Hudson Vela, Nolan Vela, Micah Vela and Naomi Watson.
