It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James L. LaMotte of Momence, Illinois, born in Kankakee, Illinois, who passed away on February 1, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. LaMotte and Ethel Warmbir LaMotte; his wife Marlene D. Grimes; and his brothers, Robert LaMotte and Richard LaMotte.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lori (Don Henry), Sandy (Bob Malpasuto) and Jackie (Bill Haas); his grandchildren, Jill Licke (Justin), Ashley Michener (Erik), Aryn Whiting (Jeff), Jack Malpasuto, Mike Malpasuto, Nicole Haas and Ben Haas; and his sister-in-law Patricia LaMotte of Bourbonnais. He is also survived by his family and friends, traveling with his wife.
He was a sitting officer and treasurer of the Illinois Firefighter Memorial Foundation and State Firefighter Medal of Honor Committee.
