He is survived by: his wife Julie Resler; his children, Matthew Kautz and Emily Sargent (Zachary) of Bloomington, IL; his siblings, Carol Nieman (James) of Sterling, IL, Stephen Kautz (Debra), Thomas Kautz (Elizabeth) of Arlington, TX and Joseph Kautz (Lin) of Cleveland, TN; and his brother-in-law Mike Resler (Kim).

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Seton School or Alleman High School.
