John left this world on February 22, 2025 at the age of 91, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis Giroux and Hazel Giroux; and his siblings, Jean Scherer, Betty Hudspeth, Robert Giroux (Mickie) and Charlotte Allen.
He is survived by: his wife Edeltraut Föst; his children, Jackie Quinones, Sue Brandt (Don), Karin Rousey, Dennis Giroux (Jennifer), Cindy Jones (Wes) and Kevin Giroux (Laurie); his grandchildren, Jana Giroux, Larry Hoogstraten (Nicole), David Hoogstraten (Mariela), Emily Brandt, Naia Brandt, Reed Brandt, Toni Insalata, Joseph Insalata, Jacob Insalata, Grace Giroux, Kate Giroux, Lauren Jones and Rachel Jones; and his great grandchildren, Kaylie, Miley, Kora, Kaleb, Kadence, Klover, Liam and Camila.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel (65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423). A prayer will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 9:45 AM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sag Bridge Catholic Church (10600 S Archer Ave, Bedford Park, IL 60501). A burial will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
