He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Rath and Ann Rath (Pawlowski); the mother of his children Sherry Rath; and his former wife Sherry. He is survived by: his wife Clair; his children, Jennifer Davis (Alex) of Cary, Sarah Smith of Coal City and Jonathan Rath (Lisa) of Minooka, Illinois; his stepson Erich Matthews (Hillary) of Coal City; his grandchildren, Megan, Clarissa, Abby, Avery, Darien, Miranda, Turner, Bailey, Mason, Vivienne, Camden, Mayday and Rosie; his great grandchild Oliver; his siblings, Josetta Nelson (late Bruce) of Morris, Ronald Rath (Barbara) of Morris and Laurie McComas (Duane) of Morris; his sister-in-law Billie Williams of Texas; and his aunt Agnes "Cookie" Killelea of Iowa. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Bill's memory to a Humane Society of Animal Shelter of the donor's choosing.
