He was predeceased by: his parents, Olaf Olsen and Jennie Olsen (De Lille); his wife Mary Olsen; his daughter-in-law Julie A. Olsen; his brother Ronald Olsen; his parents-in-law, William and Laura Durham; his stepfather-in-law Lou Hartwick; and his brother-in-law Bill Durham.
He is survived by: his children, Tara Vertin, Joseph Olsen, Jr. and Michael Olsen; his grandchildren, Phillip (Kyle Vertin), Grant, Rachel (Claire Olsen) and Abigail (Samantha Olsen); his brother Gary Olsen (Judy); and his siblings-in-law, Eddie Durham (Helen), Cherie Surprise (Guy), Pat Olsen and Laurie Becker. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
