He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Carls and IdaMae Carls (Peters). He is survived by: his wife Nancy O'Brien; his children, Lisa McHale (Robert) of Chicago and Brian Carls of Minonk; his brother Ronald Carls (Connie) of Flanagan; and his grandson Mason Carls of Washington, IL..
