He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Simon and Grace Mildred Hanes Freitag; his brothers, Jim and Bob; and his great grandchild Aubrey.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Lynn Bolliger; his sons, Tim Eugene of Mackinaw, IL and Todd A of Portland, TN; his granddaughters, Nicole (Ben) and Ashleigh (Anthony); and his great grandchildren, Mason, Makenna, Adley and Ava.
