He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Harpster and Lotti Harpster (Kistler); his wife Sonya Sue Koehler; and his brother Delbert Harpster. He is survived by: his children, Larry Harpster (Lucinda Michaelis), Colleen Hernandez (Javier) and Heather Rodriguez (Andres); his grandchildren, Andrew Harpster (Holly), Kristen Mijarez (Ivan), Alisha Hernandez, Robert Hernandez, Mayumi Ishikawa and Emi Ishikawa; and his great grandchildren, Kenzi, Russell, Lia and Nico.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Salem Lutheran Church Youth Ministry in Sandwich.
