He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Thomas and Marian Thomas (Olmstead); and his grandsons, Noah Thomas and Henry Thomas. He is survived by: his children, Brent Thomas (Jaime) of Dixon, Shane Thomas (Crystal Woodward) of Dixon and Brandi Love (Andy) of Milan; his siblings, Brad Thomas of Sterling, Greg Thomas (Sharon) of Davis, IL and Linda Thomas of Rockford; his stepchildren, Timothy Maloy (Melissa), Barbara Diane Quiroz and Nancy Kathleen Maloy of Abington, IL; and his grandchildren, Landen Love, Mason Love, Hudson Love, Halle Love, Ian Thomas, Jack Thomas and Jersey Thomas. He is also survived by seventeen step-grandchildren; and eleven step great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Schilling Funeral Home (702 1st Ave, Sterling, IL 61081). A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the same location.
