He is survived by: his wife Patricia O'Connor; his daughter Karen "Katie" Kenig (Richard); and his siblings, Mary Ann Francis (late Clement), Catherine Brysky (Gerald) and Timothy O'Connor. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to "Sgt. Tommy's Kids" or the Midlothian Public Library.
