He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Nancy J. Ryan; his children, Michael Ryan (Patricia), Melissa Ryan (Melissa Staples) and Nikki Sustek (Jim); his grandchildren, Ryan Sustek, Abigail Ryan, Mason Sustek, Kelly Ryan, Owen Sustek, Mikey and Sean Ryan; his parents, John Ryan and Kathleen Ryan; and his siblings, Kathleen Carr (late Richard), John (Diane), Patrick (Mary Anne), Daniel (Nancy), Thomas (Tammey) and Colleen Ryan.

Visitation was held on Thursday, July 11th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home & Cremation Services (11028 SW Hwy, Palos Hills, IL 60465). A prayer was held on Friday, July 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:15 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, July 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Terrence Parish (4300 W 119th Pl, Alsip, IL 60803). A burial was held on Friday, July 12th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery (6001 W 111th St, Alsip, IL 60803).
