The memory of Steven Cochran of Metropolis, Illinois, who passed away on October 20, 2024 at the age of 76, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo L. Cochran and Maisie Morley Cochran Smith; his brother Michael Joseph Cochran; his nephew Christopher David Walter; his stepfather Judge Carl Smith; his grandparents, James, Ida Cochran, Joseph and Florence Morley; and his cousin Billy Joe Powell.
He is survived by: his sister Maureen Walter; his cousins, Misty Powell, Whitney Powell, Jamia Powell, Terri Abernathy (Jonathan), Katelyn Yates, Kassy Horstman and Michael Powell; his nephews, Dustin Walter (Hillary) and Clayton Walter; his niece Kristen Walter; and his aunt Anna Louise Drew.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home (70 Jon St, Metropolis, IL 62960). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be given in Steve's name to the American Cancer Society, 1 E. Wacker Drive, Suite 1500, Chicago, Il 60601-1851.
