It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Gamblin Cummings of Metropolis, Illinois, who passed away on February 4, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ervin Kotter and Pearl Kotter; her former husband Lewis "Salty" Gamblin; her husband Leo Cummings; and her grandson Stephen Brice Gamblin.
She is survived by: her children, Steve (Tracy Gamblin) and Patti (Mike Faughn) of Metropolis; her stepdaughters, Connie Cummings McGinnis of Metropolis and Nancy Cummings Burnett of San Diego, CA; her grandchildren, Megan Gamblin, Chase Gamblin, Tim Faughn and Beth Faughn; her great grandchildren, Abby, Aaron Faughn, Ruby Shpayer, Emry Gamblin and Louis Gamblin; and her sister Wanda Helm. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
