With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nora Worthen (Metropolis, Illinois), born in Temple Hill, Illinois, who passed away on April 5, 2020 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Nora Worthen to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Johnson and Lucille Johnson (Weaver); her husband Cecil Darrell Worthen; her daughter-in-law Dorothy "Doe" Worthen; and her brothers, Lloyd and Charles Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Tina Serles (Randy) of Bullhead City, AZ, Kathy Pennington (Gary Kim) of Cisne, IL, Ardell "Buck" Worthen of Wagner, OK, Don Worthen (Tammy) of Metropolis and Danny Worthen of Colorado; her grandchildren, Jaclyn Strickland (Marcus Mosberger) of Wayne City, IL, Joshua Pennington of Cisne, IL, Melissa Parker (Michael), Cheryl Patton (Desmond) of Bullhead City, AZ, Randy Serles (Amy) of Tallahassee, FL, Tim Worthen (Dawn Glidewell) of Pekin, IL, Nikata and Bryanna Worthen of Kentucky; her great grandchildren, Tyler Patton (Samantha Norris), Allysen Patton, Cody Parker (Jessica Ben), Kimberlyn, Korbin Strickland, Ann, Troy Mosberger, Olivia, Jackson Serles, Nadiya and Lilliyonna Worthen; and her great great grandchildren, Nova, James Patton, Zoe and Jordan Parker. She is also survived by 1 step-sister; 3 sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
In order to comply with recommended guidelines regarding Covid-19 precautions, a graveside service will be held at a later date in Metropolis.
