With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Loyeszelle Whalen of Metropolis, Illinois, born in Benton, Illinois, who passed away on August 19, 2021 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Neal and Audrey Neal (Stites); and her brothers, Eugene Neal, Arthur Neal and Frank Neal.
She is survived by: her husband James "Jiggs" Whalen; her children, Karen Kaufer (George), Trisha Gould (Lance), Keith Whalen (Chen) and Tim Whalen (Kim); and her sister Mildred Smith. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Loyeszelle's name to First Baptist Church, 307 Massac Creek Road, Metropolis, Illinois 62960.
