He was predeceased by: his sister Phyllis Ewert of Huntley, IL; his parents, Louis F. Ermel and Vera H. Ermel; his siblings, Julie Mullen, Marilyn Thomason, Fred Ermel, Paul Ermel and Ron Ermel; and his great grandchild Emily Marie.
He is survived by: his wife Luisa Ermel of Metropolis; his son Kevin Ermel (Loni) of Metropolis; his grandchildren, Rachel Orrick (Matthew), Kristin Carlton (Steve), Tim Ermel (Paula) and Zachary Ermel (Jenny); and his great grandchildren, Alexis, Alikzander, Kinzie, Tyler, Aubrey, Apollo, Devlyn, Elizabeth and Cadence.
