He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Johnson and Frances Johnson (Blankenship); his grandchildren, Brian Spurlin and Enola Jo Johnson; and his brothers, Milton "Goat" Johnson, Louis Blankenship and Ernest Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Melissa Kotter (Richard Dale), Lewis Johnson II (Angela) and Charles Johnson (Crystal); his stepchildren, Connie Carnes (Mike) and Paul Martin (Sarah); his grandchildren, Robert Reed (Shelby), Stephen Waggoner (Mary Kate), Lewis Johnson III, Nolan Johnson, Abigail Parrish, Lexi Parrish and Damian Lee; and his siblings, Cindy Bullard, Robert Johnson, Charles Johnson, Walter Johnson and Kenny Johnson. He is also survived by several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
