It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerry Ray Korte of Metropolis, Illinois, who passed away on January 21, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Korte and Helen Korte (Lawrence); his wife Penny Korte; his brother-in-law David Watson; and his nephew Terry Watson.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeff Korte (Caitlin), Jason Korte and John Wesley Korte; his grandchildren, Thomas Nixon, Emilee Korte, Rhett Korte, Stetson Korte, Hunter Korte, Case Korte and Analeigh Phillips; his sisters, Janice Watson (Jim) and Judy Watson; and his siblings-in-law, Donna Christian (Bobby), Holly Crouch and Jerry Crouch (Tami). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Zion Evangelical Church (1132 Country Club Rd, Metropolis, IL 62960). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
