James Whalen Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Whalen of Metropolis, Illinois, born in Harriman, Tennessee, who passed away on May 11, 2023, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick Montgomery and Mattie Florence Whalen (Brannum); his wife Loyeszelle Whalen (Neal); and his siblings, Bea Bunch, Bernice Morgan, Kate Bardell and Gene Whalen.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Kaufer (George), Trisha Gould (Lance), Keith Whalen (Chen) and Tim Whalen (Kim). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in his name to the First Baptist Church, 307 Massac Creek Road, Metropolis, Illinois 62960.
