He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Yates and Hester Yates (Hayden); his wife Constance "Connie" Yates; his siblings, Tula Hendrix, Herbert Yates, James Mitchell and Merelle Mitchell; his nephew Denny Carnes; and his niece Glenda Turner.
He is survived by: his daughter Connie Yates Smith of Tuscola, IL; his siblings, Sharon Lang of Metropolis and James Yates (Susan) of St. George, UT; his nieces and nephews, James Mitchell (Boopie), Pat Mitchell (Judy), Nancy Stern (Marc), Kenny Carnes (Angela) and Penny Legereit (Jonathan); and his great-nephews, Chandler and Ryan.
