He was predeceased by: his parents, James Garner and Helen Garner; his wife Phyllis Garner (Kotter); his daughter Patricia Laird (Garner); and his siblings, Elizabeth Sackler, Jim Garner and Bud Garner.
He is survived by: his children, Pam Schwartz (Jim) and Jay Garner (Jan); his son-in-law Donald Laird; his grandchildren, Angie Ball, Molly Lyon, Pam Kreuter, Donnie Laird II and Cory Garner; and his sister Jane Whitright. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
